Cascade Clamps - Established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine store hiring only four people. Total sales for that year totaled sixty thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and different parts. Through five years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 staff and their annual sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is one of the leading international makers within the material handling industry.
Manufacture and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive quest of new business opportunities. During the last 60 years, the material handling business has grown into a highly sophisticated area and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this development. Cascade currently continues to grow as the premier provider of forklift accessories and different associated products. In the 1950's, Cascade started designing, making and promoting hydraulic attachments. Manufacturing was done in the year 1956 on a new office so as to house all of the office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current headquarters. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total workers reached 180 employees and sales had reached almost $2,300,000.
The next production plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. The year 1960 marked Cascade's initial move into the international world of the material handling industry when the company established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In 1964, the business altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in 1965, the business went public with an initial offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing amenities within the continental US to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade merchandise are fabricated globally due to many subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This facility is made to be the ultimate customer support centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and the year 1997 subsequent to acquiring five firms, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the worldwide leader in blades.
